Product Designer

Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Product Designer to lead the design and development of innovative and functional furniture products, including sofas, beds/cots, recliners, and ottomans. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of furniture design, strong aesthetic sensibility, and hands-on experience with materials, manufacturing processes, and prototyping. Key Responsibilities: 1. Product Design & Development Lead end-to-end design process for new furniture products from concept to production. Develop aesthetically pleasing, ergonomic, and practical furniture designs aligned with brand identity and customer expectations. Utilize advanced design tools (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) to generate concept drawings, 3D renders, and manufacturing blueprints. 2. Collaboration with Technical Teams Work closely with 3D modeling artists and engineering teams to ensure design intent is translated into production-ready models. Create detailed manufacturing drawings, BOMs, and assembly instructions. 3. Material & Process Expertise Strong understanding of materials used in furniture production such as wood, upholstery, foams, and fabrics. Demonstrate expertise in manufacturing processes and provide support to production teams in resolving design-related issues. Optimize material usage and reduce waste through accurate cutting and material requirement lists. 4. Prototyping & Validation Oversee prototyping and validation processes to ensure that all designs meet functional, aesthetic, and ergonomic standards. Participate in frequent site visits to monitor production, support prototype development, and resolve design challenges in real-time. 5. Market Research & Trend Analysis Stay updated with the latest trends in furniture design, materials, finishes, and consumer preferences. Collaborate with the marketing and sales teams to translate market demands into design solutions. 6. Measurement Accuracy & Evaluation Ensure high precision in all design measurements to facilitate seamless manufacturing and assembly processes. Review manufactured products to verify adherence to design intent and make modifications where needed. 7. Knowledge Sharing & Process Improvement Mentor junior designers and share best practices on design techniques, tools, and materials. Continuously seek improvement opportunities in design processes, production efficiency, and design quality. 8. Technical Documentation Maintain complete and accurate technical documents, including design files, specifications, material details, and production guides. Required Skills & Qualifications: Bachelors/Master’s degree in Industrial Design, Furniture Design, or related field. Minimum 2+ years of relevant experience in furniture product design. Strong portfolio showcasing furniture products Proficient in design and CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks). In-depth understanding of furniture materials, joinery, ergonomics, and manufacturing techniques.
