Product Designer ( Sofa)

Position Summary

We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Product Designer to join our team, specializing in upholstered furniture such as sofas and recliners. The ideal candidate will have a strong sense of design, material knowledge, and proficiency in 3D design tools, enabling them to develop innovative furniture concepts and support the production team with accurate documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Conceptualize and design sofas, recliners, and other upholstered seating furniture aligned with market trends and customer preferences.
• Work with the R&D and development teams to translate ideas into practical, production-ready designs.
• Utilize 3D design and sketching software to create detailed models and design layouts.
• Evaluate and recommend raw materials (fabrics, foams, frames, mechanisms, etc.) suitable for design and functionality.
• Collaborate with the production team to ensure feasibility of designs in manufacturing.
• Prepare and maintain detailed design documentation, including drawings, specifications, and assembly details.
• Understand production processes and material behaviour to optimize designs for durability and efficiency.
• Contribute to continuous innovation by researching design trends, ergonomics, and new materials.
• Bachelor’s/Diploma in Product Design, Industrial Design, Furniture Design, or related field.
• Proven experience in designing upholstered furniture (sofas, recliners, chairs, etc.).
• Proficiency in 3D sketching and CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Rhino, SketchUp, or similar).
• Strong knowledge of raw materials used in upholstered furniture (wood, metal frames, foam, fabrics, mechanisms).
• Understanding of furniture production processes and ability to collaborate with manufacturing teams.
• Excellent documentation skills for creating technical drawings, BOMs, and design specifications.
• Creativity, attention to detail, and problem-solving ability.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹200,000.00 - ₹400,000.00 per year

Work Location: In person
