Product Designer & Developer (Handmade Bags)

Role Overview: You will be joining an export company in preparation for the Texworld fair in February as a Product Developer. This hands-on role requires creativity, strong organizational skills, and previous experience in design work within a factory or export house. As a Product Developer, your main responsibilities will include designing a new collection, managing artisans, overseeing client samples, and ensuring all production deadlines are met. Key Responsibilities: - Design Our New Collection: Research current trends in embroidery, crochet, and handmade work to design a 40-45 piece collection for the upcoming fair. - Run the Floor: Work closely with tailors and artisans on the factory floor to manage workflow, troubleshoot issues, and ensure designs are accurately executed. - Hit Your Deadlines: Produce a minimum of 4 new high-skill samples for the collection each week. - Manage Client Samples: Oversee urgent sampling for existing clients, ensuring samples are perfect and ready for shipping ahead of schedule. - Be a Technical Expert: Create detailed sketches, tech packs, and other necessary tools to communicate design instructions clearly to the production team. Qualifications Required: - Strong portfolio showcasing design work in bags, textiles, or fashion. - Proven experience working in a factory or export house. - Ability to effectively work with artisans and lead a production team. - Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously. - Technical knowledge of embroidery, crochet, or other handwork will be beneficial in this role.,
