Product Configuration Engineer

As a BOM Specialist, your role involves the creation and management of Bills of Materials (BOMs) for products. Your key responsibilities include: - Developing and maintaining accurate and detailed BOMs based on inputs and datasheets. - Ensuring correct listing and categorization of components, sub-assemblies, and materials. - Updating BOMs as design changes, improvements, or corrections are made. - Creating and releasing manufacturers, manufacturer and vendor parts, internal part numbers in the PLM system. You will also collaborate with clients" design and engineering teams to: - Understand product specifications and requirements. - Align BOMs with the latest product designs and engineering documents. - Communicate any discrepancies or issues between the BOM and design documents to relevant stakeholders. Additionally, you will be responsible for: - Ensuring the integrity and accuracy of BOM data within the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. - Maintaining thorough documentation of BOM revisions, changes, and approvals. - Implementing and managing a systematic approach to version control for BOMs. In terms of qualifications, the desired candidate profile includes: - Excellent communication skills to present complex ideas clearly. - Openness to travel for short/long durations related to projects. - Experience in ERP analysis, product configuration engineering, or configuration management. - Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other analytical tools. - Strong organizational skills, focus on accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision. You should also possess: - Creativity and passion for creating solutions to customer problems. - Ability to provide accurate and timely estimates for work tasks. - Strong analytical skills to gather, analyze, and interpret data from multiple sources. Educational requirements include being at least an Engineering/Computers Graduate or postgraduate. Relevant degrees include BE/ME/MTech in Mechanical/Automobile/Production or MCA/MCS with relevant experience. This is a full-time position with benefits such as Provident Fund. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, and the work location is a hybrid remote setup in Pune, Maharashtra. Experience in Product Configuration Engineering, Product Data Management, ERP, or Sales Automation is required.,
