Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Procurement Specialist

Key Responsibilities:

1. New Product Development (Chemicals)

  • Support the development of new products to meet market and customer requirements.
  • Work closely with R&D and Sales teams to source and qualify new raw materials.

2. Supplier Development & Management

  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers for existing and upcoming products.
  • Establish long-term supplier relationships to ensure reliability, quality, and cost efficiency.
  • Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and supply contracts in line with company policies.

3. Purchase Order & Procurement Management

  • Prepare, finalize, and validate Purchase Orders (POs) in

    SAP/ERP system

    .
  • Ensure timely order placement, acknowledgment, and delivery tracking.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records in compliance with internal audit and ISO standards.

4. Sales & Technical Coordination

  • Handle sales inquiries from internal stakeholders for the assigned region.
  • Coordinate with Sales and Technical teams to resolve customer technical queries.
  • Provide support in obtaining and sharing COAs, TDS, and MSDS for new and existing products.

5. Quote and Sample Management

  • Follow up on quotations and samples with suppliers to meet project deadlines.
  • Ensure proper documentation and communication of pricing and product information.

6. Payment, Logistics & Documentation

  • Coordinate with Finance and Logistics teams to resolve supplier payment and shipment-related issues.
  • Ensure import/export documentation and statutory compliance for inbound/outbound shipments.

7. Supplier Agreements & Compliance

  • Draft and maintain supplier agreements as per company procurement policy.
  • Ensure adherence to ISO procedures and maintain supply chain-related documentation.

Preferred candidate profile

  • Bachelors Degree in

    Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or Supply Chain Management

    .
  • Minimum

    4 to 5 years

    of experience in chemical

    procurement, sourcing,

    roles (preferably in the chemical or manufacturing industry).
  • Hands-on experience with

    SAP

    or other ERP systems is mandatory.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills.
  • Knowledge of import/export documentation and local procurement regulations preferred.
