Procurement Executive - Mechanical

We are hiring a Procurement Executive - Mechanical, for a leading manufacturing organization.

Role overview:

• Responsible for end to end procurement of machined, fabricated, and engineered mechanical components.
• Supports production and new product development activites.
• Works closely with R&D, production engineering and quality teams
• Corporate office based full time permanent role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Source and procure mechanical components as per MRP and production schedules.
• Coordinate with production and planning teams to understand demand forecast.
• Handle vendor sourcing, evaluation, development, and performance management.
• Negotiate pricing and commercial terms to achieve cost optimization.
• Manage procurement documentation, ERP entries and part code creation.
• Ensure timely availability of raw materials while avoiding stock-outs and excessive inventory.
• Track procurement savings and report cost reduction initiatives.

Technical & Process Exposure (Mandatory):

• Procurement of machine and fabricated components.
• Exposure to post process operations such as: machining, fabrication, painting etc.
• Understand of CAD drawings and mechanical designs.
• Involvement of design finalization along with engineering, R&D teams.
• Ability to provide technical inputs and value engineering suggestions.

R&D & Cross-functional coordination:

• Close interaction with R&D during new product development.
• Participation in component design discussions and vendor feasibility.
• Coordinate with Quality, Stores, and Engineering for smooth execution.

Cost Reduction & Vendor Management:

• Identify alternate vendors and sourcing options.
• Implement cost reduction and value engineering initiatives.
• Monitor supplier performance and ensure quality compliance.
• Support contract renewals and long-term vendor relationships.

Note: Candidate with only raw material procurement experience will not be considered.

Qualification:

• B.E/B.Tech - Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum 3+ years of relevant experience in Mechanical procurement.
• Experience in Manufacturing/Engineering preferred.
