Job Description

  • Key Responsibilities:

  • Procurement Planning & Supplier Management:

  • Prepare and implement the

    procurement plan

    in alignment with production and business requirements.
  • Identify and assess new suppliers to ensure a robust supplier base and mitigate supply risks.
  • Initiate

    negotiations

    with suppliers to obtain favorable terms and pricing.
  • Maintain strong, professional relationships with suppliers to foster collaboration and long-term partnerships.
  • Vendor Evaluation & Rating:

  • Conduct

    vendor evaluations

    to assess the quality, pricing, and delivery performance of suppliers.
  • Implement a

    vendor rating system

    to measure and track supplier performance over time.
  • Continuously review and update vendor databases, ensuring accurate records and compliance with procurement policies.
  • Enquiries & Quotes:

  • Place

    enquiries

    for both domestic and imported

    engineering goods

    and services.
  • Receive quotes

    from suppliers and ensure all necessary documents are received and maintained.
  • Prepare

    comparison statements

    to evaluate quotes based on cost, quality, and delivery terms, ensuring the most cost-effective and reliable options are selected.
  • Inventory & Stock Management:

  • Monitor and manage

    inventory levels

    to ensure adequate stock for the plant while avoiding overstocking.
  • Work closely with the

    technical team

    and

    accounts department

    to ensure the timely procurement and financial management of materials.
  • Logistics Coordination:

  • Coordinate with

    suppliers

    and

    transporters

    to ensure smooth and timely logistics for the delivery of materials.
  • Ensure that the materials are delivered within the specified timelines and in good condition.
  • Quality Compliance:

  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with company

    quality systems

    and standards.
  • Work within the guidelines set by the company to ensure the availability of materials to the plant in a timely manner.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination:

  • Act as a liaison between procurement,

    technical teams

    , and

    accounts

    to ensure smooth execution of procurement activities and resolve any issues related to material availability, quality, or pricing.
  • Ensure all activities are executed as per defined

    quality systems

    and procurement processes.
