Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Process Development & Optimization

Design and implement injection molding processes for new and existing products.
Establish molding conditions using scientific molding techniques.
Monitor and improve cycle times, yields, and overall production efficiency.

Troubleshooting & Technical Support

Analyze and resolve production issues related to molds, materials, and equipment.
Provide technical solutions to improve yield, throughput, and part quality.
Work with vendors to resolve machine and material issues.

Documentation & Compliance

Develop and maintain process documentation including work instructions and troubleshooting guides.
Ensure all procedures are clearly stated and compliant with quality standards.

Tooling & Equipment Evaluation

Evaluate tooling for quality and efficiency improvements.
Recommend refurbishments based on cycles, process capability, and tooling history.

Continuous Improvement

Lead cost reduction and process improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and SPC.
Conduct trials and validation studies to ensure process robustness.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Work closely with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to optimize part designs.
Interact with customers to resolve issues and provide updates on new projects.

Training & Mentorship

Provide technical leadership and mentorship to process technicians and operators.
Train teams in scientific molding practices and process control.

Collect and analyze process data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Prepare reports and present findings to management.
