Process Planning Engineer

Role & responsibilities

Experience : 1 to 5 years

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for defining & developing manufacturing processes for assembly of new product introductions & changes
• Preparation of process documents - Sequence of steps (SOS), Standard operating procedure (SOP), PFMEA and control plans
• Layout development, Torque and tooling requirements determination, tools & fixtures design, low-cost automations (LCA)
• Study the ergonomics & eliminate the professional hazard for workmen & improve the productivity
• Recommend acquiring most appropriate equipment to expand or modify production lines
• Use digital tools for MBOM, virtual build, process planning, sequencing, validation and analysis
• Interact within team for integrated solutions to meeting guidelines, customer quality and timeline expectations.
• Infer inputs from customer cross functional teams and implement requisite change requirements.

KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES & EXPERIENCE

• Extensive experience in manufacturing process planning & line setup particularly in Automotive Industry
• Knowledge of automotive manufacturing standards & quality assurance practices
• Proficient in DFA/DFM, Layout development, conducting process & tooling trials
• Cost Estimation for Manual, Semi & Fully Automatic manufacturing lines
• Excellent understanding of Line layout design, Capacity calculations, Station design, build sequence and lean principles
• Ability to provide solutions to manufacturing & Installation problems
