Senior Process Design Engineer

Key accountabilities:

Process Design and Engineering:

• Lead the development of

  process & hydraulic design

  for

  water and wastewater

  treatment plants (conventional & advanced treatment technologies).
• As a process expert, you provide technical leadership on water and wastewater projects, wastewater treatment: primary-secondary-tertiary treatment and biosolids treatment; and membrane bioreactors, side stream nutrient removal, odor control system including advanced systems like SBR & BNR process, Sludge Handling Storage Treatment. water treatment: advanced water treatment processes including membrane filtration and residuals handling processes and emerging technologies.
• Perform advanced Process equipment sizing and selection for pumps, screens, gates, mixers, valves, chemical preparation & dosing systems, odor control systems, sludge handling storage - dewatering system, biogas storage-handling-treatment, H2S Scrubbers, Digestor System, CHP engine, UV, Chlorination System, Heat Exchangers, HVAC System, and other process equipment.
• Evaluate and select process technologies for wastewater treatment (e.g. ASP, MBBR, SBR, MBR, BNR, RO, UF, tertiary treatment, sludge digestion & dewatering, conversion of biosolid into Class A & Class B, waste to energy etc.).
• Evaluate and select process technologies for water treatment (e.g. sedimentation, filtration, disinfection etc.).
• Prepare basic and detailed engineering of Process works. • Preparation of Hydraulic Calculation.
• Carryout Optioneering, outline design, detailed design.
• Prepare process flow diagrams (PFDs).
• Conduct design calculations (sizing of tanks, reactors, clarifiers, aeration systems, filters, sludge handling equipment, UV & chemical disinfection system etc.).
• Prepare mass and energy balances,
• Prepare hydraulic calculations & profiles,
• Prepare P&IDs.
• Ensure compliance with local/international standards, client specifications, and regulatory requirements.
• Provide construction support.
• Preparation of Process plans and specifications for municipal water and wastewater project Tenders documents, including treatment facilities, pumping stations, and distribution/collection systems.
• Knowledge of HAZOP study, and Hazardous area classification
• Prepare Process plant general arrangement drawings, bills of quantities, piping layouts, overall plant layouts,
• Prepare technical specifications, equipment datasheets, and schedules for Process equipment and instrumentation and other design deliverables like RFQ.
• Technical evaluation of Vendor offers etc.
• Preparation of control philosophy for all plant equipment.
• Utilize and oversee the use of 2D and 3D CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Plant 3D, Navisworks Manage) for the development of plant general arrangement and piping layout drawings.
• Should have Technical Report writing skills.
• Should have excellent knowledge of using MS Excel, MS Word, PPT, Auto CAD
• Knowledge of 2D and 3D drafting software such as AutoCAD, REVIT and Open Plant Modeler preferred.

Project and team leadership:

• Collaborate with project managers to develop project scopes, deliverables, schedules, and budgets, and ensure projects are executed on time and within budget.
• Act as a primary point of contact for municipal clients effectively communicating project updates and design concepts.
• Conduct value engineering and whole-life cost analyses to recommend the most cost-effective and sustainable solutions for municipal assets.
• Meeting with Client and other stakeholders to get approval of the design, drawings and all other technical documents required to complete the project smoothly.
• Able to adopt cost effective / cost saving design.
• Capable of handling a team of 6 to 8 engineers/draftsman.
• Guiding and mentoring engineering /CAD team for quality delivery.
