Job Description

Process Control Engineer for Melting and Molding Department Key Responsibilities: Overall process control for melting and moulding as defined by QC/NPD departments. Daily calibration of moulding machines and efficient utilization of moulding chemicals. Conduct trials for alternative, cost-effective raw materials such as resin, hardener, mould paint, and furnace ramming mass. Monitor mould closing, inspect mould quality, and oversee necessary repairs. Maintain and optimize melting and moulding parameters including pouring/tapping temperatures, number of coating layers, and use of premium sand. Serve as a reliever for both moulding and melting departments (currently, no backup personnel are available). Conduct trials aimed at yield improvement and pattern modifications as per higher authority's direction. Implement best foundry practices to enhance overall efficiency. Monitor and report daily rejections, ensure corrective actions, and escalate issues when needed. Enforce PPE compliance among shop floor personnel (e.g., safety shoes, gloves, goggles). Support cost reduction initiatives across the department. Qualification Requirements: B.E. / Diploma in Foundry Technology (preferably from NIFT Ranchi), Mechanical Engineering, or Metallurgy. 3–4 years of hands-on shop floor experience in a foundry, particularly in moulding and melting operations. Exposure to Mn Steel and High Chrome Castings. Knowledge of sand systems and melting processes. Willingness to work in shifts as required. Basic computer proficiency. Show more Show less
