Job Title: Principal College of Nursing

Role Overview:

The principal serves as the academic and administrative head of the College of Nursing, ensuring that all programs comply with RGUHS, Indian Nursing Council (INC), and Karnataka Nursing Council (KNC) regulations. The role involves strategic leadership in academic planning, faculty development, student affairs, accreditation, and quality assurance to promote excellence in nursing education and research.

Key Responsibilities:

Academic Leadership:

• Provide leadership in planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing programs (B.Sc).
• Ensure compliance with RGUHS, INC, and KNC standards and guidelines.
• Supervise the development and revision of curricula, lesson plans, and evaluation methods.
• Promote a culture of academic excellence, research, and innovation among faculty and students.

Administration:

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the college including academic schedules, examinations, and student services.
• Coordinate with RGUHS, INC, and KNC for affiliations, inspections, and reporting.
• Lead the preparation and submission of reports, audits, and accreditation documents.
• Manage faculty recruitment, appraisal, and professional development.

Quality & Compliance:

• Ensure adherence to statutory requirements, including infrastructure, faculty–student ratio, and clinical affiliations.
• Drive initiatives for NAAC/NABH/NBA/ISO accreditation as applicable.
• Implement internal quality assurance systems in alignment with IQAC objectives.

Finance & Resource Management:

• Oversee budgeting, resource allocation, and utilization for academic and administrative purposes.
• Ensure optimal use of laboratory, library, and clinical resources.

Stakeholder Engagement:

• Maintain effective collaboration with affiliated hospitals, healthcare institutions, and industry partners.
• Promote community outreach programs and public health initiatives.
• Represent the institution at academic and professional forums.

Qualifications & Experience:

• M.Sc. Nursing (Ph.D. preferred).
• Minimum 15 years of experience in Nursing education, including at least 5 years as Professor/Principal in a recognized institution.
• Registration with Karnataka Nursing Council.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
