Principal Piping Engineer

Role Overview: As a Principal Piping Engineer at our company, you will be responsible for interpreting internal or external business issues and recommending best practices in the field of Piping. You will be expected to independently solve complex Piping-related problems with minimal guidance and may lead functional teams or projects. Your expertise in Piping and broad knowledge of the discipline within the Engineering function will be crucial for the successful execution of projects. Key Responsibilities: - Perform conceptual, FEED, or detailed design analysis and develop them as per project Scope of Work, design basis, and relevant codes and standards within the planned schedule and budget - Prepare detailed design calculations, reports, and procedures - Manage your time effectively to meet objectives and plan resource requirements - Lead others to solve complex problems, exercise judgment, and identify innovative solutions - Interpret internal/external business challenges and recommend best practices for improvement - Focus on health and safety policies and procedures - When acting as Lead engineer, direct medium or large Engineering and Design teams, lead the Discipline engineering design, plan and organize discipline execution, ensure interfaces and deliverables are clear, and represent the discipline in meetings with stakeholders Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering - 15-20 years of experience as a Piping Engineer in Oil and gas with a major contractor - Previous experience as Lead Piping Engineer on FEED and EPC projects - Detailed knowledge of Pre-FEED, FEED, and Detailed Design Phases Projects - Familiarity with all Piping Sub-Disciplines, design techniques, international codes and standards, and software tools like SP3D / E3D / Navisworks - Preferably Registered Professional Engineer or member of a professional engineering society - Committed to McDermott values and flexible for business travel Company Details: Our company has been driving the energy transition for over 100 years with a team of more than 30,000 professionals across 54 countries.
