Principal Network Engineer

As a highly skilled Principal Network Engineer at LSEG, you will be responsible for the ongoing support and reliability of all components within the LSEG ecosystem, including platforms, networks, applications, and services. Your role will involve providing escalation support for critical network services to ensure operational stability and performance of the LSEG global network. You will need to identify opportunities for improvements and define requirements for software automation to enhance the features, functions, and reliability of the network underpinning LSEG's digital platforms. **Key Responsibilities:** - Design, build, and maintain systems, software, and applications across various domains to ensure high-quality outcomes. - Make technical design and amendment decisions independently, effectively leading the workload. - Translate business requirements into technical specifications, aligning with infrastructure and network capacity needs. - Develop dashboards to provide near real-time network status. - Provide technical support and guidance for multicast- and WAN-related issues and implementations. - Lead upgrades when necessary, coordinate efforts with internal teams and third parties, and ensure accurate documentation and monitoring system performance. **Qualifications Required:** - Proven experience in network products and services, with a focus on Cisco WAN technologies such as ASR and Nexus9K. - Expertise in LAN, WAN, MPLS, VPLS, LDP, GRE, BGP, OSPF, and ISIS within a VRF context. - Comprehensive knowledge of multicast concepts including PIM-SM, PIM-SSM, IGMP, MVPN, and MLDP. - Proficiency in network automation, SRE, and DevOps or equivalent experience. - Familiarity with Agile methodologies, project management tools like JIRA, and network packet analysis tools. - Understanding of low-latency technologies, Data Centre Networking, SDN, Cisco ACI, VxLAN, and related technologies. - Proficiency in Service Management processes, preferably with ITIL knowledge. - Excellent spoken and written English skills.
