JOB OVERVIEW

  • The Principal Finance Systems and Reporting Analyst, is a contributor responsible for supporting financial systems administration and the management of data to support financial reporting. This position requires strong technical expertise in financial information systems, financial systems operations, data management, financial consolidation. This role will work independently to execute daily financial systems processes, ensure data integrity, and timely deliver accurate data to support financial reporting. This position requires self-management and the ability to operate independently with minimal guidance.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the global monthly close, monthly forecasting, and annual budget processes, ensuring data integrity within the companys financial systems.
  • Maintain the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial data and reports for internal and external reporting requirements.
  • Perform reconciliation processes investigate discrepancies and ensure timely resolution of data inaccuracies.
  • Uphold financial systems and reporting controls to ensure data integrity and compliance with corporate policies.
  • Collaborate with the Financial Systems and FP&A teams to support the execution of monthly close and planning processes, including data validation, system updates, and timely issue resolution.
  • Conduct a thorough analysis of financial data, investigating variances to support financial reporting accuracy; responsible for validating, troubleshooting, and resolving financial data discrepancies and inaccuracies.
  • Serve as a business side user and administrator for SAP financial planning and reporting systems.
  • Maintain and manage master data elements within SAP systems related to the finance function, including cost centers and reporting hierarchies.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance as needed.
  • Execute ad-hoc analytics to support critical projects and business initiatives.
  • Responsible for extracting data and producing vital financial reports that are accurate, efficient, and easy to update; must be able to merge data from various data sources and reporting systems.
  • Continuously improve tools and reports to help management better understand and plan our business.
  • Identify opportunities to improve the overall financial close process further; implement best practices and solutions for the business.
  • Support projects involving changes or enhancements to financial systems or reporting tools.
  • Ensure continued efficiency and reliability of financial systems by recommending and implementing innovative solutions.

COMPETENCIES (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)

  • Strong expertise in financial systems, including financial data flows, structures, and hierarchies.
  • Strong technical knowledge of ERP systems (preferably SAP).
  • Proficient knowledge of financial planning and reporting tools (preferably SAP).
  • Proficient in database tools, system reconciliation processes, and financial data governance practices.
  • Solid understanding of financial close, planning, and forecast processes to support system requirements.
  • Capable of self-management, demonstrating initiative and accountability without requiring close supervision.
  • Ability to assess data integrity issues, trace root causes across systems, and implement lasting solutions.
  • Strong analytics, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and documentation skills with meticulous attention to detail and a strong focus on accuracy and quality.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with strong collaboration skills and ability to translate business needs into systems and data solutions.
  • Capable of meeting tight deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while managing multiple priorities and shifting deadlines.
  • Experience working with various financial reporting systems, such as Business Objects or Hyperion.
  • Understanding of financial statements and financial data analysis.
  • Knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience required. An advanced degree (e.g., MBA, CPA) is preferred.
  • Experience in financial systems administration, data management, or financial operations. Eight years or more preferred.
  • Experience with financial planning and consolidation processes, with a focus on ensuring data quality.
