About the Role
The Automation Test Lead/Architect is responsible for the comprehensive validation of automotive telematics products, focusing on end-to-end test automation and API level automation. This role requires strong expertise in automation frameworks like Pytest and Robot Framework, along with strong automation experience.
What You Will Do
- Lead and manage the automation testing strategy for automotive telematics products, ensuring efficient planning, execution, and reporting of automated tests.
- Strong knowledge on Automation framework development and coding with Python, CAPEL scripting.
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test cases using Pytest, Robot Framework, and other relevant automation tools to support continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD) pipelines.
- Coordinate automation testing efforts across multiple teams for multiple programs.
- Provide technical guidance and resolution for all automation-related queries, focusing on telematics features and automation tool implementation.
- Oversee the creation and execution of automated test scripts, ensuring broad coverage for critical telematics product features and system functionalities.
- Perform Sanity Testing, System Testing, End-to-End Feature Testing, OTA Testing, KPI Testing and Functionality Testing using automation.
- Conduct log analysis to identify defects or issues and provide recommendations for resolution during the automation test lifecycle.
- Manage Full System Testing for device firmware, validating KPI, performance, security, power management, state management (ignition states), GPS, sensors, and other telematics functions.
- Provide test support and live debugging assistance for the development of new features or change requests, ensuring alignment with client expectations.
- Use CANoe and PCAN tools for CAN bus simulation, message traffic monitoring, and debugging in automotive testing environments using automation framework.
- Assist clients in understanding functional and non-functional requirements by reviewing high-level design documents and ensuring all testing needs are met.
- Lead the coordination of defect tracking and reporting using industry-standard tools and monitor the resolution of issues discovered during automated testing.
- Leverage GitHub and Gerrit for version control, managing automation test scripts, and facilitating seamless collaboration with development teams for code reviews and integration processes.
What You Need
- At least 7-10 year of experience as a Test Engineer in Automotive
- Strong knowledge on Automation frameworks like Pytest and Robot Framework
- Strong knowledge on automation using Python and CAPEL scripting.
- Strong working experience on End to End and API automation
- Experience with Software Testing (White box/Grey box)
- Experience in automation of Automotive Telematics features/Infotainment.
- Experience with data analysis, logs, tracing.
- Experience with DevOps practices, and knowledge of CI/CD pipeline integration for automated tests.
- Familiarity with vehicle control units (VCU), embedded systems, and automotive ECU testing.
- Experience in cloud/backend testing for telematics solutions and understanding of automotive protocols.
- Understanding of test management tools, defect tracking systems, and reporting frameworks.
- Good English communication skills both written and verbal.
- HW setup knowledge, also Telematic/Infotainment systems with knowledge on CAN, Diagnostics and Telephony.
What is Nice to Have
- ISTQB Certified
- Knowledge of Automotive Testing Standard (A-SPICE)
- Bachelor s degree in computer science or other relevant (IT connected) specializations.
- Experience in Automation and Scripting (Python)
- Good English communication skills both written and verbal.
