Job Description

Role Overview: As a Practical Lab Assistant at the Hospitality & Hotel Management School, your main responsibility will be to provide operational support in the practical training labs for Food Production, F&B Service, Housekeeping, and Front Office. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth conduct of classes, maintenance of equipment, availability of materials, and compliance with hygiene and safety standards. Key Responsibilities: - Lab Preparation & Setup - Assist faculty in preparing labs before practical sessions, including mise-en-place and arranging tools. - Ensure availability of raw materials, cutlery, crockery, linen, cleaning supplies, and training aids. - Check equipment such as stoves, ovens, housekeeping machines, and service counters before use. - Student & Faculty Support - Guide students in handling tools, equipment, and materials safely. - Provide operational support during practicals, workshops, and events. - Demonstrate basic procedures like knife skills, table setup, bed-making, and cleaning techniques when required. - Inventory & Store Coordination - Issue and collect tools, utensils, and equipment from students during practicals. - Maintain records of consumables and coordinate with the storekeeper for replenishment. - Prevent misuse or wastage of materials. - Maintenance & Safety - Clean, sanitize, and maintain equipment, utensils, and training areas after practical sessions. - Report any damages, repairs, or malfunctioning equipment to faculty/administration. - Ensure labs follow hygiene, food safety, and occupational safety protocols. - Administrative & Event Support - Assist in organizing institutional events, competitions, and workshops. - Support faculty in demonstrations, guest lectures, and practical examinations. - Maintain lab records, attendance sheets, and usage reports when required. Qualification Required: - Bachelor's Degree from a relevant field or Arts, Commerce, or Science background. - 12th Pass with a minimum of 1 year experience in the same position. - Prior experience as a lab assistant, trainee chef, steward, or housekeeping staff preferred. - Basic knowledge of food production, service, housekeeping, and front office operations. - Strong organizational and multitasking skills. - Good communication and ability to assist students patiently.,
