Job Description

Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

Testing and Validation of Power Conversion Products
Perform functional and performance testing for a full range of power electronic products across high power and low power categories including AC DC rectifiers PFC stages Boost PFC Interleaved PFC Vienna rectifier DC DC converters including LLC full bridge half bridge buck boost variants DC AC inverters including two level and three level NPC or T type AC AC converters such as cycloconverters matrix converters or dimming and voltage control units motor drives AFE rectifiers lighting LED drivers CC and CV drivers isolated and non isolated SMPS units from 5 W to 500 W and small DC DC converters such as buck boost SEPIC and flyback

Performance and Protection Validation
Responsibilities include validating efficiency power factor THD ripple load regulation line regulation transient response soft start behavior thermal rise and protection features including OVP UVP OCP SCP OTP inrush and surge response for AC input products

External NABL Lab Coordination
Coordinate with external NABL labs for compliance testing with basic understanding of surge EFT EMI EMC vibration salt mist and environmental tests Prepare units wiring diagrams and follow up for test reports

Instrumentation and Measurement
Proficiency with oscilloscopes differential probes power analysers LCR meters electronic loads and thermal cameras is required Ensure correct measurement techniques safe high voltage operation and proper calibration

Data Analysis and Reporting
Analyse switching waveforms thermal images efficiency plots and dynamic responses Prepare DVP and R records test logs validation reports failure analysis documents and RCA documentation

Prototype Bring Up and Debugging
Debug both high power prototypes from 1 to 10 kW and low power modules including SMPS and LED drivers Troubleshoot switching noise oscillations gate ringing EMI issues and thermal problems Work closely with hardware layout and firmware teams

Documentation
Create test procedures wiring setups safety checklists calibration logs validation plans compliance documents and final reports

Required Skills and Competencies

Technical Skills
Strong knowledge of AC AC AC DC DC AC and DC DC converters from 1 to 10 kW Understanding of power electronics topologies including PFC LLC buck boost full bridge inverters and AFE Experience with lighting drivers SMPS and low power DC DC converters Understanding of switching components including MOSFET IGBT SiC and GaN devices Basic EMI EMC and filter design understanding Familiarity with digital control MCUs including TI C2000 STM32 dsPIC and Nuvoton

NABL and Compliance Knowledge
Basic understanding of surge EMI EMC vibration and environmental test processes Ability to coordinate with labs and interpret reports

Software Skills
MATLAB Python Excel advanced LTspice PSIM PLECS optional

Behavioral Skills
Strong problem solving and debugging skills Detail oriented testing Excellent communication and teamwork Strict adherence to high voltage safety

Education and Experience
B.E / B.Tech or M.Tech in Electrical Electronics or Power Electronics Engineering with one to six years of experience in power electronics testing and validation including systems from 1 to 10 kW
