Power BI/ SQL Developer

• Engage with business users (finance, operations, marketing, etc.) to

  understand reporting and analytics requirements

• Translate business requirements into technical specifications for BI and data modelling.
• Design, build and deploy Power BI dashboards, reports and visualisations that align with business goals.
• Create and maintain data models (star/snowflake schemas, fact and dimension tables) and semantic models to support reporting.
• Write, optimise and maintain SQL queries, stored procedures, views, functions for data extraction, transformation and loading (ETL/ELT).
• Perform data cleansing, data validation and data quality checks to ensure accuracy and consistency of reports.
• Ensure performance, scalability and maintainability of BI solutions (query tuning, indexing, aggregation tables, efficient model design).
• Implement security and governance around data access, rowlevel security in Power BI, documentation of data flows, metadata management.
• Support the deployment and refresh of datasets / reports (e.g., scheduled refreshes, incremental loads).
• Collaborate with data engineers/IT on data delivery and infrastructure (e.g., data warehouse, data lake, cloud platforms).
• Provide adhoc analysis, generate insights, trend monitoring, KPI tracking and proactive recommendations.
• Mentor and guide junior BI/developer resources; review deliverables and promote best practices.

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum

  5 years

  of experience in business intelligence, data analytics or similar roles.
• Strong experience with Microsoft Power BI: reports, dashboards, DAX, Power Query (M), services and implementation.
• Expertlevel SQL skills: complex queries, optimisation, stored procedures, functions, views.
• Proven experience designing and implementing data warehouses/data marts, dimensional modelling, ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Comfortable working with large datasets and performance optimisation.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to reconcile data, validate results and ensure integrity of insights.
• Good stakeholder management and communication skills able to translate technical concepts to nontechnical users.
• A good team player, able to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
