Power BI Architect – Role Summary

We are seeking a

hands-on Power BI Architect

with proven expertise in building and optimizing enterprise-grade Power BI solutions. The ideal candidate must have

real-world production implementation experience

, strong performance tuning capability, and the ability to independently troubleshoot complex BI challenges. This role is suited for

strong individual contributors

who can own end-to-end BI delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement end-to-end production Power BI solutions
  • Optimize slow reports, datasets, DAX, and visuals for large and complex data volumes
  • Build high-performance data models (Star Schema) and scalable semantic layers
  • Enable Incremental Refresh, Aggregations, and advanced optimization techniques
  • Debug and resolve Power BI performance & slowness issues
  • Handle DirectQuery performance optimization
  • Troubleshoot Power BI Service / Premium capacity performance
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and mentor junior developers

Must-Have Skills

  • Strong hands-on experience in Power BI Desktop & Service
  • Advanced DAX with performance tuning expertise
  • Strong Data Modelling capability (Star Schema, Fact-Dim design)
  • Deep knowledge of DirectQuery optimization
  • Power Query with Query Folding & optimization
  • SQL with performance-aware querying
  • Proven experience in performance debugging & optimization

Good to Have

  • Experience with Power BI Premium / Microsoft Fabric
  • Tools: DAX Studio, Tabular Editor
  • Exposure to Azure Data Platform / SAP

Experience Range

  • 6 to 10 years preferred
