Company:Kiya.ai Job Title: Developer Database Migration (DB2 to PostgreSQL) Work Location: Mumbai / Bangalore / Indore / Pune Experience Required: 4 to 6 years Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Database Developer with a strong background in PostgreSQL and DB2 on AS400 OS . The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in migrating databases from DB2 to PostgreSQL , database design, and deployment on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) . This role involves working on end-to-end data migration projects, upgrading PostgreSQL databases, and optimizing database performance in cloud environments. Key Responsibilities: Migrate existing databases from DB2 (AS400) to PostgreSQL Design and implement efficient database schemas in PostgreSQL Perform data migration, transformation, and validation processes Upgrade and maintain PostgreSQL databases ensuring minimal downtime Set up and configure PostgreSQL databases in GCP (Google Cloud Platform) Optimize queries and improve database performance and reliability Collaborate with application development teams to ensure seamless integration Document technical processes and migration best practices Required Skills & Experience: 46 years of hands-on experience with: PostgreSQL database development and administration DB2 (AS400 OS) database environments Database migration projects (DB2 PostgreSQL) PostgreSQL database upgrades and optimization Cloud database deployment , preferably on Google Cloud (GCP) Strong understanding of database design principles, indexing, and query optimization Proficiency in writing and debugging complex SQL queries Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail Nice to Have: Experience with GCP Cloud SQL or BigQuery Familiarity with data migration tools or ETL frameworks Knowledge of performance tuning and replication strategies Let me know if you’d like versions tailored for internal HR systems, LinkedIn, or job boards.
