Database Developer

Key Responsibilities:

• Migrate existing databases from

  DB2 (AS400)

  to

  PostgreSQL

• Design and implement efficient database schemas in PostgreSQL
  
• Perform

  data migration, transformation, and validation

  processes
• Upgrade and maintain PostgreSQL databases ensuring minimal downtime
  
• Set up and configure

  PostgreSQL databases in GCP

  (Google Cloud Platform)
• Optimize queries and improve database performance and reliability
  
• Collaborate with application development teams to ensure seamless integration
  
• Document technical processes and migration best practices
  

Required Skills & Experience:

• 46 years of hands-on experience with:
  

• PostgreSQL database development and administration

• DB2 (AS400 OS)

  database environments

• Database migration projects (DB2 PostgreSQL)

• PostgreSQL database upgrades and optimization

• Cloud database deployment

  , preferably on

  Google Cloud (GCP)

• Strong understanding of database design principles, indexing, and query optimization
  
• Proficiency in writing and debugging

  complex SQL queries

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  

Nice to Have:

• Experience with

  GCP Cloud SQL or BigQuery

• Familiarity with data migration tools or ETL frameworks
  
• Knowledge of performance tuning and replication strategies
