PostgreSQL DBA

Role & responsibilities:

• 10+ years of hands-on experience as a PostgreSQL DBA in on-premises and AWS cloud environments.
• Design, deploy, and maintain on-premises PostgreSQL clusters using Patroni for high availability and automatic failover.
• Configure and manage PgBouncer for efficient connection pooling and load management.
• Implement and manage replication, backups, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Monitor database health, performance, and capacity; perform regular tuning and optimization.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues, including cluster failover and replication lags.
• Ensure database security, access control, and compliance with organizational standards.
• Automate administrative tasks using Ansible, Bash, or Python scripts.
• Work closely with development and infrastructure teams to support application deployments and upgrades.
• Maintain detailed documentation of database configurations, procedures, and best practices.
