PostgreSQL DBA

Role Overview: You will be responsible for managing PostgreSQL databases, ensuring their performance, availability, and security. Your role will involve handling day-to-day operations, troubleshooting performance issues, and implementing database upgrades and backups. Additionally, you will be working on database replication, point-in-time recovery, and maintenance tasks. Key Responsibilities: - Strong knowledge of Postgres Architecture - Experience with different types of backup and restores in Postgres - Perform database upgrades on minor and major versions - Hands-on experience with database replication and point-in-time-recovery - Troubleshoot performance issues like load average, locks, blocking, and long-running SQL queries - Configure commonly used PostgreSQL parameters and system tables - Deploy PostgreSQL in cloud environments like AWS (RDS or EC2) or GCP - Implement high-availability solutions like Repmgr, pgpool, or efm10 - Administer multi-terabyte databases efficiently - Independently learn new technologies - Collaborate effectively with business and technical teams - Build and support large database infrastructure for high-volume transactions in a mission-critical environment Qualifications Required: - 4 to 6 years of relevant experience as a PostgreSQL DBA - Proficiency in PostgreSQL database administration - Experience working with AWS/GCP - Strong communication skills - Knowledge of Python and SingleStore MemSQL (good to have) Note: The job posting has been filled for this position.,
