PostgreSQL DBA

As a PostGreSQL DBA, your role involves a deep understanding of PostgreSQL Architecture, including internal components and process flows. You will be responsible for tasks such as installation, configuration, and environment preparation, ensuring adherence to configuration best practices. Your expertise in Database Objects & Data Management will be crucial, including schema design, indexing, partitioning, and data lifecycle management. Database Security will also be a key focus, involving role-based access control, encryption, and audit mechanisms to maintain data integrity. Key Responsibilities: - Installation & Configuration: Perform initial setup, environment preparation, and apply configuration best practices. - Database Objects & Data Management: Design schemas, implement indexing strategies, use partitioning techniques, and manage data lifecycle. - Database Security: Implement role-based access control, encryption methods, and audit mechanisms to enhance database security. - Backup & Recovery: Develop strategies for full/incremental backups, implement PITR, and ensure disaster recovery preparedness. - Database Upgrade: Plan version upgrades, conduct compatibility checks, and devise rollback strategies for seamless transitions. - Performance Tuning & Optimization: Execute query tuning, manage resources effectively, and utilize diagnostic tools for optimal database performance. - High Availability & Replication: Establish streaming and logical replication mechanisms, implement failover strategies for uninterrupted service. - Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Utilize monitoring tools, analyze logs, and proactively resolve issues to maintain database health. Qualification Required: - Minimum 4-8 years of hands-on experience in PostgreSQL administration. - Exposure to working in enterprise-scale environments. - Strong problem-solving skills and effective communication abilities. - Willingness to work from the Mumbai location on a full-time, permanent basis.
