Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a PostgreSQL Administrator located in Chennai. The PostgreSQL Administrator will be responsible for managing and maintaining PostgreSQL databases, ensuring their availability, performance, and security. Daily tasks include database installation, configuration, tuning, backup, recovery, and troubleshooting. The role also involves monitoring database systems, optimizing performance, performing upgrades, and providing subject matter expertise on PostgreSQL to development teams.

Qualifications

Proficiency in PostgreSQL database administration, installation, configuration, and maintenance
Experience in database tuning, optimization, and performance troubleshooting
Skills in backup, recovery, disaster recovery planning, and implementation
Knowledge of database security, monitoring, and auditing
Good understanding of SQL scripting and query optimization
Ability to work collaboratively with development teams and provide PostgreSQL expertise
Strong analytical skills, detail-oriented approach, and excellent problem-solving abilities
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
Experience in a similar role in the IT industry is a plus
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
