Job Description PLM Architect
A Senior PLM Architect is responsible for leading and supporting the implementation, configuration, and management of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems, ensuring efficient product development and lifecycle management processes. This includes translating business needs into technical specifications, developing and implementing PLM solutions, troubleshooting technical issues, and mentoring junior engineers.
Key Responsibilities:
- PLM System Implementation and Configuration: Design, develop, and configure PLM systems (e.g., Teamcenter, Windchill) to meet organizational needs and business requirements.
- Solution Development and Customization: Develop custom PLM solutions, including Active Workspace customizations, to support specific business processes and initiatives.
- Technical Support and Troubleshooting: Provide technical support to users, troubleshoot PLM issues, and ensure system stability and performance.
- Process Improvement and Optimization: Identify areas for process improvement within PLM and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement changes that enhance efficiency.
- Change Management: Manage and support engineering change management processes within PLM, ensuring proper documentation and workflow.
- Data Management: Manage and maintain PLM data, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
- Integration with Other Systems: Facilitate integration between PLM and other enterprise systems (e.g., SAP, ERP).
- Training and Mentoring: Provide training and guidance to PLM users, including mentoring junior engineers and graduates.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with engineering teams, business stakeholders, and IT professionals to ensure effective PLM implementation and utilization.
Required Skills and Experience:
- PLM System Expertise: Strong understanding of PLM principles and experience with specific PLM platforms (e.g., Teamcenter, Windchill).
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in PLM configuration, customization, and development tools. [
- Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills: Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues related to PLM.
- Communication and Collaboration: Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
- Leadership and Mentoring: Ability to lead and mentor junior engineers.
- Project Management: Experience in project management, including planning, execution, and reporting.
- Domain Knowledge: Familiarity with Semiconductor industry sectors and engineering processes will be an added advantage
- Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and digital thread initiatives will be beneficial.
- Experience with SAP PLM or other enterprise systems
