PLC Programmer

Role & responsibilities

PLC Programming:

- Develop and implement PLC programs based on project requirements and specifications.

- Configure and troubleshoot PLC hardware and software components.

- Modify and upgrade existing PLC programs as needed.

System Integration:

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate PLC systems with other control systems and equipment.

- Ensure seamless communication between PLCs and other devices, such as Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs) and sensors.

Testing and Debugging:

- Conduct thorough testing of PLC programs to identify and rectify errors.

- Debug and troubleshoot issues in PLC systems, including hardware and software components.

Documentation:

- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for PLC programs, configurations, and changes.

- Generate reports and documentation for internal and external use.

. Compliance and Standards:

- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations in the development of PLC systems.

- Stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices in PLC programming.

Training and Support:

- Provide training to technicians and operators on the operation and maintenance of PLC systems.

- Offer technical support and assistance to resolve PLC-related issues.

Preferred candidate profile

1) Designing power circuits, control circuits, and safety circuits.

2) Selecting and finalizing the Bill of Materials (BOM) for control system elements, including PLCs, HMIs, transformers, power supplies, switchgear elements, relays, contactors, fuses, motors, drive starters, switches, etc.

3) Developing PLC logic and troubleshooting programs.

4) Creating HMI screen designs.

5) Integrating PLCs with robots.

6) Demonstrating proficiency in electrical troubleshooting, logic, and circuit debugging.

7) Programming expertise in PLCs such as Siemens, Mitsubishi, Omron, Beckhoff, Delta, and Fuji.

8) Skills in servo drives and servo motors like Siemens, Mitsubishi, Fuji, ABB, Panasonic etc..

9) Basic experience in working with Automotive Welding and Robotic Cell lines is highly desired.

10) Strong listening, communication, and analytical skills.

11) Ability to tolerate ambiguity and commitment to tasks.

12) Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.

13) Proficiency in industrial communication protocols.

14) Familiarity with safety instrumented systems and consideration of cyber security aspects in industrial automation.
