Playwright Automation Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Design & develop

  Playwright automation frameworks

  using TypeScript (POM, data-driven, modular utilities).
• Build and maintain

  E2E, regression, smoke, and functional test suites

  .
• Integrate tests into

  CI/CD pipelines

  (GitHub Actions / GitLab CI / Jenkins / Azure).
• Perform

  cross-browser automation

  (Chromium, Firefox, WebKit) and device emulation.
• Develop

  API test suites

  (REST/GraphQL) using Playwright or external libraries.
• Optimize test execution through parallel runs, headless mode, and flaky test reduction.
• Manage test data (fixtures, mocks, stubs) for clean and stable test environments.
• Collaborate with developers for testability hooks, debugging, and improvements.
• Participate in code reviews, mentor juniors, and contribute to QA best practices.
  

Mandatory Skills

• 5+ years hands-on automation using Playwright (or Cypress)

• 7+ years in TypeScript / JavaScript development

• Strong in

  OOP, async/await, promises

• Experience building automation

  frameworks from scratch

  (POM)

• API testing

  experience (Playwright, SuperTest, Axios etc.)
• CI/CD integration (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, Azure DevOps)
• Git (branches, PRs, versioning best practices)
• Strong knowledge of

  test automation best practices

  , test pyramid, TDD/BDD
• Experience with Jest/Mocha/Chai or similar test runners
  

Good to Have (Added Advantage)

• SQL / Oracle knowledge
• Experience with ExtJS
• Cloud exposure (AWS/Azure/GCP)
• Tools: Octane, SQL Developer, Putty
