Job Description

As a Platform Engineer at our company, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing the Brightly Platform. Your responsibilities will include: - Developing and implementing scalable and secure containerized environments - Designing and building integrated toolchains and workflows for CI/CD, security, and compliance - Integrating monitoring & tracking the performance of the OpenShift platform and applications - Proactively managing applications to address service failures before they escalate - Collaborating and partnering with various stakeholders inside of Brightly - Automating application build and deployment processes - Creating self-service capabilities and automated infrastructure for developers - Working closely with architecture, development, operations, and security teams - Providing technical input and support for projects and infrastructure - Ensuring security measures are in place for applications and infrastructure - Maintaining compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements - Assisting in defining and maintaining SLAs - Documenting requirements and tasks Qualifications required for this role include: - Bachelor's in computer science or related discipline; or equivalent work experience - 5 - 7 years or more of experience in platform engineering or a related field - Several years of experience with Kubernetes, OpenShift is a plus - Proficiency in container orchestration platforms like OpenShift, Kubernetes - Experience with tools such as Tekton, Argo, GitHub, 3scale - Knowledge of programming languages like Python, Go, Bash, and/or JavaScript - Familiarity with infrastructure management tools like Terraform and Ansible - Strong analytical problem-solving skills including troubleshooting - Working knowledge of AWS - Experience in developing and managing containerized environments - Excellent communication and collaboration abilities - Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment - Willingness to be on 24x7 on-call rotation and respond to production outages - Analytical organizational skills and attention to detail - Experience with Istio, service mesh, Postgres, Datadog, and Kafka are a plus The company culture at Brightly is guided by a vision of community that serves the ambitions and well-being of all people.
