Platform Engineer

Citi is currently undergoing a significant transformation effort to simplify and modernize its legacy core banking platform. As part of this initiative, the DDA module within the legacy core banking platform will be transitioned into a modern cloud native next-generation DDA platform. This new platform will offer account management and transaction processing capabilities to Citis Institutional Clients Group (ICG) globally. To support this transition, Citi is seeking to hire a Platform Engineer who will be responsible for developing internal platforms, tools, and automation to facilitate the efficient delivery of high-quality software by development teams in collaboration with the Technology team. As a Platform Engineer, your responsibilities will include utilizing your expertise in applications development procedures and concepts to identify and define necessary system enhancements. You will consult with users, clients, and other technology groups to address issues and recommend programming solutions. Additionally, you will apply your knowledge of programming languages for design specifications, analyze applications for vulnerabilities and security issues, and conduct testing and debugging. In this role, you will also serve as an advisor or coach to new or lower-level analysts, identify problems, analyze information, and make evaluative judgments to recommend and implement solutions. You will be expected to operate with a limited level of direct supervision, exercise independence of judgment and autonomy, and act as a subject matter expert to senior stakeholders and team members. To qualify for this position, you should have at least 4 years of relevant experience in the Financial Service industry, intermediate-level experience in Java Applications Development, and a strong understanding of cloud platforms such as OpenShift, as well as deployment/packaging solutions like Dockers/Kubernetes and OpenShift. Experience with Agile software development processes, CI/CD pipelines, and tools such as JIRA, BlackDuck, and SONAR will be advantageous. The ability to evaluate design trade-offs, demonstrate clear and concise communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to work under pressure are also essential for this role. The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
