Plant Operator

Job Description: As a Plant Operator in the Resin & Coating industry, your role involves ensuring the safe and efficient operation of equipment and processes in the production of resins and coatings. You will be responsible for monitoring and controlling plant systems, maintaining quality control, troubleshooting issues, and adhering to safety and environmental regulations. Key Responsibilities: - Operate, monitor, and maintain plant equipment like reactors, mixers, pumps, and filtration systems. Adjust controls to regulate raw material flow, temperature, pressure, and other process variables. - Conduct routine sampling and testing to verify product quality meets specified standards. Document and report any deviations, initiating corrective actions when needed. - Adhere to safety protocols, conduct regular inspections, and participate in safety training sessions to maintain a safe working environment. Ensure compliance with environmental regulations for handling hazardous materials. - Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment, identifying and troubleshooting malfunctions in collaboration with maintenance personnel. Maintain accurate maintenance logs and records. - Record production activities details, including operating conditions, test results, and equipment maintenance. Prepare and submit production and incident reports as necessary. - Collaborate with plant operators, supervisors, and maintenance personnel for smooth production processes. Communicate any issues or important information during shift handovers. - Identify process improvement opportunities and participate in continuous improvement initiatives, implementing changes as directed. Qualifications: - ITI (AOCP) or Diploma in Chemical Engineering Experience: - Minimum of 2 years of experience in manufacturing or chemical processing, preferably in the resins and coatings industry. Skills: - Strong understanding of chemical processing equipment and systems. - Ability to interpret technical documents, such as safety regulations and maintenance instructions. - Proficiency in basic computer applications and data entry. - Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. - Strong communication and teamwork skills. Physical Requirements: - Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including lifting heavy objects and wearing personal protective equipment as required. Work Environment: - Exposure to hazardous chemicals, loud noises, and machinery. Safety measures and protective equipment are provided and mandatory.
