Job Title: Plant Head - Herbal Extraction Plant

Location: Himachal

Department: Operations / Production

Reports To: Managing Director / CEO

Job Overview:

We are looking for an experienced and result-driven Plant Head to lead our herbal extraction facility. The Plant Head will be responsible for overseeing end-to-end plant operations, ensuring efficiency, compliance, safety, and quality in line with company objectives. The ideal candidate should have strong leadership skills, a solid background in herbal/pharmaceutical/chemical manufacturing, and proven expertise in managing production teams and processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage daily operations of the herbal extraction plant including production, quality, maintenance, safety, and logistics.
• Develop and implement production schedules to meet customer demand and delivery timelines.
• Oversee extraction, concentration, drying, and packaging processes ensuring adherence to SOPs and GMP standards.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (GMP, ISO, HACCP, EHS, etc.).
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize efficiency, reduce costs, and minimize downtime.
• Coordinate with R&D and Quality Control teams for new product development, scale-up, and process validation.
• Manage plant budgets, production costs, and resource allocation.
• Ensure preventive maintenance of equipment and infrastructure for smooth operations.
• Drive a culture of safety, accountability, and high performance across teams.
• Recruit, train, and mentor plant staff and technicians, building a strong operations team.
• Liaise with senior management for reporting, strategic planning, and capacity expansion.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Education:

  B.Tech / M.Tech in Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, Pharmacy, Food Technology, or related field.

• Experience:

  Minimum 1015 years in plant operations with at least 5 years in a leadership role in herbal extraction, pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, or chemical processing industry.
• Strong technical knowledge of extraction technologies, solvent recovery, distillation, spray drying, and related processes.
• In-depth understanding of GMP, ISO, HACCP, and EHS guidelines.
• Proven experience in managing large teams and plant operations.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet business goals.
