The opportunity As a Senior Professional (P3) in this role, you will manage strategic sourcing activities to enhance value and resilience in materials/services sourcing. This includes establishing supplier relationship management processes, negotiating contracts, and monitoring market dynamics to optimize materials/services availability and pricing. You will collaborate with internal clients to identify sourcing needs, develop buyer/market profiles, and define service levels. With your advanced knowledge obtained through education and work experience, you will manage projects/processes independently, provide guidance to lower-level professionals, and tackle difficult and complex challenges. How you'll make an impact - Oversee the site planning process, encompassing Demand Planning, Sales & Operation Planning, Master Planning, Detailed Scheduling, and Materials Planning. - Ensure timely material availability on the shop floor and respond efficiently to unplanned events. - Take ownership of the inventory forecast and streamline inventory processes for raw materials, WIP, finished goods, and contract assets. - Lead cross-functional initiatives to enhance customer delivery, lead-time, inventory management, material availability, and resource utilization. - Develop and manage the annual warehouse budget, implement programs to boost warehouse performance, and ensure adherence to Health, Safety, and Environmental directives. - Provide leadership in establishing best practices in planning systems and integrated ERPs. - Mentor and empower the local planning, operative purchasing, order handling, and warehouse teams. - Support the profitable execution of customer and purchase orders in collaboration with project management, engineering, manufacturing, and strategic procurement. - Uphold Hitachi Energy's core values of safety and integrity by taking responsibility for actions, caring for colleagues, and ensuring business integrity. - Ensure compliance with relevant external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines. Your background - Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering. - Minimum of 3 years of relevant managerial experience and over 10 years of overall experience. - Strong leadership skills with a focus on team development. - Proficiency in analyzing and proposing solutions for planning and fulfillment challenges. - Experience with integrated ERP systems and planning tools. - Familiarity with lean six sigma tools and continuous improvement methodologies. - Understanding of Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations and compliance requirements. - Proficiency in both spoken and written English language.
