Planning engineer

A Planning Engineer creates project schedules and strategies, coordinating resources, materials, and timelines to ensure projects finish on time and within budget, using specialized software (like Primavera P6 or MS Project) to develop detailed plans, monitor progress, manage risks, and communicate with teams, acting as the 'mastermind' for project execution. Key Responsibilities: Project Scheduling: Developing detailed, multi-level project schedules (Level 1: Feasibility, Level 2: Tender, Level 3: CPM/WBS, Level 4: Resource-loaded). Resource Planning: Determining labor, material, and equipment needs. Progress Monitoring: Tracking actual progress against the plan, calculating variances, and reporting. Coordination: Liaising with different teams (engineering, construction, procurement). Risk Management: Identifying potential issues and developing mitigation plans. Cost Control: Estimating costs and ensuring adherence to budgets. Reporting: Providing updates on project status and performance.
