Planning Engineer

As an Engineer/Sr. Engineer in the Planning (Heavy Fabrication) department, your role involves preparing detailed production plans and schedules for heavy fabrication components and assemblies. You will study drawings, specifications, and BOQs to determine material requirements and fabrication sequences. It is essential for you to possess good knowledge of different kinds of materials and be familiar with Fabrication Process, guidelines, Procedures & WPS, as well as their application. Your responsibilities also include: - Having knowledge of facilities & capacities available in-house and with vendors. - Understanding welding guidelines and machining allowance. - Pre-planning fabrication components Drawing and coordinating with design, procurement, machining, and quality teams for timely execution. - Balancing loads by planning and allocating resources (machines, manpower, jigs & fixtures) to meet project timelines. - Monitoring Work in Progress (WIP) and updating progress reports to highlight any bottlenecks. - Planning outsourcing/subcontracting activities when required and ensuring timely completion. - Implementing lean manufacturing and cycle-time reduction initiatives in fabrication. - Ensuring compliance with welding procedures (WPS/PQR), quality standards, and safety requirements. - Supporting cost estimation and planning for new product development with a focus on cost reduction. - Having knowledge of ISO 9001-2015 & working on SAP Hana Module will be an added advantage. - Familiarity with Microsoft projects for planning & scheduling resources will be an added advantage.
