Planning Engineer

Role & responsibilities

Project Planning & Scheduling:

Develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules (e.g., Gantt charts, PERT charts) using industry-standard software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).

Collaborate with project managers, site engineers, and other stakeholders to define project scope, tasks, and resource requirements.

Establish realistic project timelines, milestones, and deadlines.

Progress Monitoring & Reporting:

Regularly monitor project progress against the baseline schedule.

Identify potential delays, risks, and issues, and propose proactive mitigation strategies.

Prepare and present detailed progress reports, including earned value analysis, to senior management.

Resource Management:

Plan and optimize the allocation of resources, including manpower, materials, and equipment.

Ensure resource availability and resolve any conflicts to maintain project flow.

Documentation & Coordination:

Maintain accurate project documentation, including project schedules, progress reports, and change orders.

Coordinate with various teams (design, procurement, finance, etc.) to ensure seamless project execution.

Conduct site visits to verify progress and address on-site planning challenges.

Risk & Change Management:

Analyze and manage project risks, developing contingency plans to minimize impact.

Evaluate and incorporate changes to the project scope, schedule, and budget.

Skills & Competencies:

Proven experience in a planning or project management role within the construction or real estate industry.

Proficiency in project management software such as Primavera P6 and MS Project.

Strong understanding of civil engineering principles and construction processes.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

High level of attention to detail and organizational skills.
