Planning Engineer Civil (Residential Projects)

Job Purpose:

To plan, monitor, and control project schedules, resources, and progress for residential apartment projects. The role ensures timely execution by preparing project plans, tracking progress, forecasting delays, and coordinating with the site and management teams.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Project Planning & Scheduling

• Prepare baseline project schedules using

  MS Project / Primavera

  .
• Break down the project into WBS (Work Breakdown Structure) and plan resources, materials, and manpower.
• Develop detailed micro-schedules for civil, structural, and finishing works.

2. Progress Monitoring & Reporting

• Track daily, weekly, and monthly progress against baseline schedules.
• Identify delays, analyze critical paths, and propose corrective actions.
• Prepare dashboards, MIS, S-curves, and progress reports for management.

3. Coordination with Site & Management

• Work closely with project managers, engineers, procurement, and contractors to ensure schedule adherence.
• Conduct weekly review meetings with site teams.
• Coordinate with consultants/architects for drawing approvals and technical clarifications.

4. Resource & Material Planning

• Forecast project requirements for manpower, materials, and equipment.
• Coordinate with procurement for the timely delivery of materials.
• Monitor productivity and resource utilization at the site.

5. Cost & Budget Monitoring

• Assist in the preparation of project budgets and cash flow projections.
• Track deviations between planned vs. actual costs.
• Support management in value engineering and optimization initiatives.

6. Risk Management & Forecasting

• Identify potential project risks and bottlenecks early.
• Recommend mitigation plans and fast-tracking strategies.
• Predict project completion timelines and update management proactively.

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of

  construction planning

  , sequencing, and execution.
• Hands-on experience with

  Primavera / MS Project

  (mandatory).
• Understanding of drawings, BOQ, contracts, and specifications.
• Analytical skills, problem-solving ability, and attention to detail.
• Good communication skills and ability to coordinate across departments.
• Proficiency in Excel, dashboards, and project reporting formats.

Preferred Background:

• Experience in planning high-rise residential projects (towers, gated communities).
• Exposure to structural, masonry, finishing, faade, and MEP work sequencing.
• Worked with reputed real estate developers or contracting companies.
