Planning Engineer

Job Title: Planning Engineer Highway & Road Projects

Location:

Job Purpose:

To lead the planning, scheduling, and monitoring of highway and road construction projects to ensure timely execution, cost control, and adherence to project specifications and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, monitor, and update detailed project schedules (using Primavera P6/MS Project) in coordination with the project team.
• Prepare baseline schedules, look-ahead plans, and progress tracking reports.
• Identify and analyse critical paths, project bottlenecks, and propose corrective actions.
• Coordinate with Design, Procurement, and Construction teams for resource allocation and sequencing.
• Prepare and update progress reports, dashboards, and S-curves for management review.
• Support project cost control, budgeting, and forecasting activities.
• Monitor subcontractor and vendor schedules to ensure alignment with the overall project timeline.
• Assist in preparing project extension of time (EOT) claims, delay analysis, and client correspondence.
• Participate in project review meetings and provide insights on progress and risk mitigation.
• Ensure compliance with contractual requirements, technical standards, and quality parameters.
• Interface with client, consultant, and internal teams for planning-related matters.

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of

• Experience in

  road and highway construction planning

  , including earthwork, structures, and pavement works.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings, BOQs, and technical specifications.
• Strong analytical, reporting, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in

  MS Excel, PowerPoint, and data analysis tools

  .

Preferred Background:

• Experience working with reputed infrastructure companies on

  NHAI or State Highway projects

  .
• Proven track record in handling large-scale highway/road projects from planning to completion.
• Familiarity with project management systems and ERP tools (like SAP or Primavera Contract Management)
