Planning Engineer

Position: Planning Engineer - Chennai

Exp- 3 to 5 Years of relevant experience in project planning, preferably in

Construction, Manufacturing, or infrastructure sectors.

Qualification: BE Civil or BE Mechanical

Male or Female ,immediate Joining

Salary - 4 LPA to 6 LPA

Work Location : Sholinganallur, Chennai

Job Profile :

1. Project Planning and Scheduling

• Develop, update, and maintain project schedules using Primavera P6, MS Project,

or equivalent tools.

• Prepare Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), activity lists, and resource-loaded

schedules aligned with project milestones.

• Coordinate with internal teams (engineering, procurement, production, and site) to

define task dependencies and timelines.

• Ensure planning accuracy by validating task durations, resources, and sequences.

2. Project Monitoring and Control:

• Identify schedule deviations, critical path delays, and resource bottlenecks, and

suggest corrective or recovery actions.

• Generate project dashboards and progress reports for management review.

• Conduct regular schedule reviews with stakeholders to ensure alignment with

objectives.

3. Resource and Cost Management :

• Collaborate with project managers to forecast manpower, equipment, and material

requirements.

• Integrate planning with cost control processes to monitor budget utilization and cost

variances.

• Support the finance team in developing cash flow projections based on project

timelines.

4. Risk and Change Management

• Identify potential risks in project execution and assist in developing risk mitigation

strategies.

• Evaluate the impact of scope changes or delays and incorporate approved changes

into revised schedules.

• Maintain version control for baseline and revised project schedules.

5. Coordination and Communication :

• Act as a central point of contact between design, procurement, execution, and senior

management teams regarding project progress.

• Support project review meetings by presenting schedule updates, variance analyses,

and forecasts.

• Communicate proactively with stakeholders regarding any anticipated project issues

or schedule changes.

6. Documentation and Reporting

• Maintain accurate records of all project schedules, revisions, and supporting data.

• Prepare periodic project performance reports (S-curves, variance reports, etc.) for

internal and client review.

• Ensure proper documentation of lessons learned for continuous improvement.

Technical Knowledge:

• Understanding of project management methodologies and lifecycle.

• Working knowledge of cost estimation, resource allocation, and earned value

management.

Soft Skills:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Excellent communication and coordination skills.

• Detail-oriented, organized, and proactive in managing multiple projects.

• Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external vendors.

Preferred Skills (Added Advantage)

• Experience in EPC or DesignBuild project environments.

• Experience with lean construction principles or process optimization initiatives.
