Piping Engineer

Job Description  Lead Piping Engineer (Mechanical)

• Possess good knowledge of Codes like ASME B31.3, ASME Sec II, ASME Sec V, ASME Sec IX, SIS-05 59 00, related ASTM A53, A312, A105, API 5L, A106, B36.1, B36.19/ IS standards viz. IS:800, IS:814, IS:1239, IS:3589, IS:1367, IS:2062, IS:2629, IS:7215 in their latest editions and application of these requirements in projects activities viz. procurement, fabrication, erection, testing, commissioning, handing over and closeout. 
• Ensure proper and efficient discharge of the Companys responsibilities for overall project/site construction, carryout project execution ( Steel Structures, Piping - Process, Utilities, Shot Blasting & Industrial Painting, Electrical, Instrumentation etc.) and adherence to Companys policies and requirements. 
• To carryout work related to construction aspects of direct job, sub-contracts, Quality and Safety at construction sites as per job procedures, ensuring timely, within-scope, and budget-friendly delivery by collaborating with internal teams, contractors and external vendorsResponsible for overall field/site contract management, administration and coordination. 
• Ensure that the contractor's works are monitored and controlled in accordance with drawings , specifications and contract documents. 
• Ensure monitoring on the quality of materials and workmanships installed, operated and maintained. 
• Liaise with client, Project Management and contractor for resolution of project issues. 
• Supervise, review, monitor and report on the project progress. 
• Liaise with all parties for site safety. 
• Monitor assigned staff and implement on site procedures to assist them in performing their work efficiently. 
• Maintain awareness of contracts financial status. 
• Coordinate for final approval of the work and arrange handover. 
• To ensure staff & departmental administration and line personnel management. 
• Demonstrate by leadership and example a strong commitment to the development and implementation of our quality and safety management system, Core Values and to continually improve the effectiveness of construction management. 
• Ensure that work carried out by the contractor / department is professional, economical and adequate in all respects, particularly in relation to safety, quality assurance and adherence to Companys contractual schedule, responsibilities and compliance with statutory and legal requirements. 
• Ensure that Company policies are properly adhered to within his area of responsibility and the changes or additions to such policies are communicated to reporting staff and are implemented. 
• Decide on the assignment of Site staff for services, group activities and monitor the same. 
• Consult and liaise with all Departments on Construction related matters as necessary.  
• Ensure that relationships with all departments within the Company and with the Client, Consultant, Vendors, Sub-contractors are effective and cordial. 
• Ensure that all personnel are aware of the latest issue of the Department’s Work instructions, procedures, specifications and methods. 
• Comply with the Company's Construction Procedures and Practices in all respects, particularly those relating to Quality, Safety, Personnel and Industrial relations; wherever these are found to be inadequate immediately report the deficiencies and suggest solutions. 
• Ensure compliance of safety requirement, protocols, compliance with industry standards at Project sites with zero accident and nil client penalties. 
• Conduct project review meetings, highlighting critical activities and risks. Attend site weekly/monthly/Management Meetings on significant manners. 
• Define project scopes, set objectives, and develop detailed plans to monitor progress.  
• Manage resources and perform risk assessments while handling project scope, schedule, and costs. 
• Utilize appropriate systems and tools to measure and report project performance, escalating issues as necessary. 
• Maintain strong relationships with clients and consultants, ensuring transparent communication and regular updates. 
• Coordination with all staff, workmen, Contractors engaged in project work to ensure inter dependency issues of the project and to ensure objectives are achieved. 
• Ensuring smooth communication flow, both verbal and written, is maintained within Project site and other sites, head office etc. 
• Drive initiatives to optimize operational efficiency and facility performance, focusing on best practices in maintenance and facility management. 
• Train engineers to enhance their skills in project management and operational excellence. 
• Develop the catch-up plan and mitigate the delay, if any. Respect the proverb – Time is the essence of a contract/ project. 
• Resource loading and resource levelling including the resource utilization reporting. 
• Ensure adequate steps like Schedule crashing and fast tracking are implemented as per requirement 
• Execute project close-out activities including as-built schedules and documentation.
