About this position

ML/DL for Recommendation System, Social Network Analysis, starting as early as January 1, 2026.

I am looking for a motivated and talented early-career researcher with a strong interest in Machine Learning, Deep Learning, social network analysis, complex networks, or network science, and relevant background knowledge.

What will you be doing as a PhD Candidate?

• Conducting research at the intersection of AI and Recommendation Systems, network science, leading to peer-reviewed publications;
• Research work with foreign collaborators;
• Writing an article-based PhD thesis within the duration of the position;
• Involvement in co-supervising a limited number of B.Tech. and M.Tech students;
• Presenting research at international conferences;
• Being an active member of my research group;
• Engaging in a limited number of teaching activities;

Minimum Eligibility :

• Applicants must hold a Masters degree with First division in Engineering / Technology / Sciences, or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Institute, with a minimum Cumulative Performance Index (CPI) of 6.5 on a 10-point scale (or an equivalent grade as determined by the Institute) where letter grades are awarded, or at least 60% marks in aggregate where CPI is not mentioned. Additionally, candidates with a Masters degree must also have a First division in full-time Bachelors degree or its equivalent with the same minimum CPI of 6.5 on a 10-point scale or 60% aggregate marks where applicable.
• Only GATE / NET qualified full-time Ph. D. research scholars shall be eligible for the Institute fellowship.

Fellowship Amount:

The monthly fellowship for a Full time Ph.D with common amounts for Junior Research Fellows (JRF) being around ₹37,000+ HRA and Senior Research Fellows (SRF) around ₹42,000+HRA.
