The Technical Safety Engineer position at Wood India Consulting division is looking for a Senior Engineer to provide technical safety expertise in ensuring project compliance with client and Wood Functional Safety specifications, applicable code requirements, and national/international standards. This role, based in the Chennai office, offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer to make a positive impact on technical safety performance in critical projects within the Energy sector. As a Senior Technical Safety Engineer, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day technical safety activities on projects. Your tasks will include conducting various studies such as site location, layout, FRA, QRA, fire detection, and protection. You will also perform consequence analysis like gas dispersion and thermal radiation studies, as well as gap analysis on documents to ensure compliance with customer standards and specifications. In addition to technical responsibilities, you will collaborate with other disciplines, review specifications, provide technical support, and ensure alignment with applicable legislation and regulations. Proficiency in tools such as PHAST and SINTEF, tracking manhours, producing technical reports, and assisting project management are also key aspects of the role.
