Job Description

Job Summary:

A Pharmacist is a healthcare professional responsible for dispensing medications, providing patient counseling, ensuring drug safety, and collaborating with healthcare providers to optimize treatment outcomes. They play a critical role in patient care by verifying prescriptions, advising on proper medication use, and promoting health and wellness.

Key Responsibilities:1. Medication Dispensing & Management:

  • Accurately interpret and fill prescriptions.
  • Verify dosage, drug interactions, and patient allergies.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, DEA).
  • Manage inventory, including controlled substances.

2. Patient Care & Counseling:

  • Provide clear instructions on medication use, side effects, and storage.
  • Offer health advice (e.g., OTC medications, lifestyle changes).
  • Conduct medication therapy management (MTM) and health screenings.
  • Administer vaccinations (where permitted).

3. Collaboration & Healthcare Support:

  • Work with doctors, nurses, and insurers to optimize treatment plans.
  • Clarify prescription issues with prescribers when needed.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary healthcare teams.

4. Pharmacy Operations & Compliance:

  • Maintain accurate patient records and pharmacy documentation.
  • Follow safety protocols and infection control measures.
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians and support staff.
  • Stay updated on new drugs, guidelines, and industry trends.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Education: Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited institution.
  • Licensure: Valid state pharmacist license (must be in good standing).
  • Experience: Previous retail, hospital, or clinical pharmacy experience preferred.
  • Skills:
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in pharmacy software and EHR systems.
  • Knowledge of pharmacology, drug interactions, and compounding.

Work Environment:

  • Retail pharmacies, hospitals, clinics, or pharmaceutical companies.
  • May require standing for long hours and handling emergencies.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
