Job Title: Ayurvedic Pharmacist

Job Objective:
To manage the Ayurvedic hospital pharmacy by ensuring proper storage, dispensing, inventory control, and documentation of Ayurvedic medicines, proprietary formulations, and health supplements as per prescribed treatment protocols.
The pharmacist also plays a key role in supporting patient care through accurate medicine dispensing and information sharing.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Dispensing of Medicines:
Dispense classical Ayurvedic and proprietary medicines as per prescriptions from BAMS/MD doctors.
Ensure correct dosage, form (churna, vati, kashayam, etc.), and duration as advised by the physician.
Counsel patients on basic usage, storage, and precautions of medicines.
2. Inventory Management:
Maintain adequate stock of medicines, oils, decoctions, supplements, and raw herbs. Monitor expiry dates and remove expired or damaged items as per protocol.
Raise timely purchase indents and coordinate with suppliers/vendors.
3. Storage & Handling:
Ensure proper labeling, storage, and handling of Ayurvedic medicines as per traditional and regulatory standards.
Maintain hygiene and cleanliness in the pharmacy area.
Store items as per temperature, humidity, and light sensitivity requirements.
4. Record-Keeping & Documentation:
Maintain dispensing logs, stock registers, GRNs, and patient medicine records.
Assist in monthly stock audits and reconciliation.
Support NABH, AYUSH, or local compliance documentation related to pharmacy.
5. Coordination:
Coordinate with doctors, therapists, and front office for patient medicine needs.
Work with procurement or admin teams for purchase and vendor management.
6. Support to In-House Manufacturing (if applicable):
Assist in basic preparation, packaging, or labeling of in-house Ayurvedic formulations under supervision.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
Education: Diploma in Ayurvedic Pharmacy / B.Pharm (Ayurveda) / D.Pharm (Ayurveda) from a recognized institute
Registration with State Ayurvedic Pharmacy Council (if required)
Experience: 1-3 years of experience in an Ayurvedic hospital, pharmacy, or dispensary Freshers with strong subject knowledge may be considered
Skills:
Good knowledge of Ayurvedic medicines and formulations
Attention to detail and accuracy in dispensing
Basic computer skills for inventory and billing systems
Communication skills in local language, Hindi, and basic English
