Job Description

The PGT Psychology teacher is responsible for teaching Psychology to students of classes 11–12, guiding them in understanding human behavior, mental processes, and psychological concepts. The role focuses on delivering curriculum content effectively, nurturing critical thinking, and preparing students for board examinations and higher studies in Psychology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach Psychology theory and practicals as per the CBSE/ICSE/State Board curriculum.
  • Prepare and deliver lesson plans, presentations, and learning materials aligned with syllabus objectives.
  • Conduct demonstrations, experiments, surveys, and case studies to enhance conceptual understanding.
  • Guide students through practical files, lab work, psychological testing, and research projects.
  • Assess student performance through tests, assignments, projects, and exams.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation for academic and practical work.
  • Provide academic guidance and counseling support when needed.
  • Encourage participation in psychology-related activities, workshops, and exhibitions.
  • Prepare students for board exams, competitions, and entrance tests related to Psychology.
  • Integrate technology and digital tools into teaching for improved engagement.
  • Participate in staff meetings, parent-teacher interactions, and school events.
  • Ensure a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages inquiry and critical thinking.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Master’s Degree in Psychology (M.A./M.Sc. Psychology).
  • B.Ed. with Psychology as a teaching subject.
  • Prior experience teaching senior secondary classes (preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of psychological theories, research methods, and practical testing.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and classroom management skills.
  • Ability to mentor students in projects, case studies, and career guidance.
  • Familiarity with NEP guidelines, modern teaching methodologies, and educational technologies.

Additional Requirements (Optional)

  • Experience conducting counseling sessions or working in school counseling roles.
  • Participation in psychology-related workshops, seminars, or mental health programs.
  • Ability to support school well-being initiatives.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
