Job Overview

We are looking for a high school History Teacher to join us immediately. You will be conducting history classes on important historical events like civil war, ancient history and the American revolution. Besides, you will be preparing lesson plans and collecting reference materials as needed.

You will be grading high and middle school students on their performance and written tests. In addition, you will be coordinating with other high school teachers to organize extracurricular activities. Apart from teaching history, you will also be supervising students’ projects and research work. You will also be attending workshops and other training activities to improve your teaching skills.

Responsibilities

• Preparing lesson plans and course outlines as per the curriculum
• Assisting other staff members in conducting extracurricular activities
• Accompanying students on museum visits and field trips
• Helping students in analysing historical tests
• Delivering engaging lessons on topics such as American history and World War
• Assigning projects and homework to students
• Arranging and inviting resource persons and guest speakers to deliver presentations on important events in history
• Using presentations and visuals for better understanding
• Assessing students performance and providing individual attention to weaker students
• Monitoring students progress and discussing it with parents
• Incorporating relevant and current historical changes in the learning process
• Facilitating healthy classroom discussions and debates
• Participating in skill building workshops and training sessions
• Conducting in-depth research and writing grant proposals for the same
• Including researching findings in journals and instructional materials
• Utilizing library and history specific resources when preparing lesson plans
• Performing administrative duties when required
• Revising course outlines and specific requirements when needed

Requirements

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in History, Social Studies or related field
• A valid teacher certification course is required
• Previous work experience at high school level or middle school required
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Ability to create a fun learning environment
• Excellent knowledge of historical events and happenings
• Demonstrating patience and resilience
• Ability to handle high school students
• Ability to adhere to best teaching practices and guidelines.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From ₹25,000.00 per month
