Job Summary:

Personal Trainer & Group Fitness Instructor

Key Responsibilities:

Personal Training Duties:

  • Conduct fitness consultations and assessments
  • Design and implement personalised training programs for clients
  • Instruct clients on safe and effective exercise techniques
  • Monitor client progress and adjust programs as needed
  • Motivate clients to stay consistent and achieve results
  • Maintain client records and progress documentation

Group Fitness Instruction:

  • Lead a variety of group fitness classes (e.g., HIIT, strength, core, circuit training, etc.)
  • Create engaging and safe class plans suitable for multiple fitness levels
  • Deliver clear instructions, demonstrations and modifications
  • Promote a positive and inclusive environment for all class participants
  • Handle setup, organisation, and sanitisation of equipment pre- and post-class

General Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a clean and organised training environment
  • Foster a sense of community within the gym/studio
  • Promote membership, training packages and special programs
  • Stay current with fitness trends, certifications and continuing education
  • Comply with all safety and operational policies of the facility

Requirements:

  • Certified Personal Trainer (NASM, ACE, CSCS, ISSA, ACSM, or equivalent)
  • CPR/AED Certification (current)
  • Experience in both personal training and group instruction
  • Strong knowledge of exercise science, movement patterns and injury prevention
  • Excellent communication, energy and leadership skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or related field
  • Specialised certifications (e.g., yoga, spin, functional training, kettlebells)
  • Experience teaching various formats (HIIT, strength, cardio, core, etc.)
  • Background in coaching special populations or sports performance
