Performance Test Engineer

Job Summary

Looking for a skilled Performance Test Engineer with 5–6 years of experience in designing, executing, and analyzing performance tests for enterprise applications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in performance testing tools, scripting, workload modeling, and performance analysis to ensure that our applications meet performance, scalability, and reliability expectations.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Collaborate with business, development, and QA teams to gather performance testing requirements.
• Design and develop performance test scripts and scenarios based on business workflows and user load models.
• Execute performance, load, stress, endurance, and scalability tests.
• Monitor and analyze system performance (CPU, memory, disk, network utilization, thread dumps, GC logs, etc.).
• Identify performance bottlenecks and work with developers and architects to resolve issues.
• Generate and present detailed performance test reports with findings, analysis, and recommendations.
• Define performance baselines, SLAs, and acceptance criteria.
• Continuously enhance test automation and monitoring frameworks to improve coverage and efficiency.
• Contribute to capacity planning and performance tuning activities.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5–6 years of hands-on experience in performance testing of web, API, and enterprise applications.
• Strong expertise in performance testing tools such as JMeter
• Proficiency in scripting and parameterization of test scenarios.
• Experience with APM and monitoring tools (e.g., Dynatrace, AppDynamics, New Relic, Grafana, Splunk).
• Solid understanding of performance engineering concepts (throughput, response time, latency, concurrency, scalability).
• Good knowledge of web technologies, APIs (REST/SOAP), and databases (SQL tuning, query optimization).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose bottlenecks across application, database, and infrastructure layers.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Excellent communication and reporting skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to cloud-based environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and performance testing in distributed systems.
• Experience in other performance tools like LoadRunner, Gatling or NeoLoad
• Experience in CI/CD pipelines with automated performance testing integration (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI).
• Familiarity with containerized applications (Docker, Kubernetes) and microservices architecture.
• ISTQB, Certified JMeter Engineer, or equivalent certifications.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
