Role & responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct pre-delivery inspections on fully assembled E-Rickshaws as per defined checklists and quality standards.
• Inspect and test electrical systems (battery, motor controller, wiring harness), mechanical assemblies (suspension, braking, chassis), and fit & finish.
• Perform battery health checks and ensure proper charging protocols are followed.
• Coordinate with production and maintenance teams for rectification of identified issues.
• Ensure compliance with company specifications, government regulations, and safety norms (e.g., CMVR standards).
• Maintain detailed inspection reports, PDI checklists, and digital logs in ERP/QMS systems.
• Escalate recurring quality issues and assist in root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Monitor tool calibration and proper use of testing equipment.
• Support training of PDI technicians and line inspectors on standard inspection procedures.
• Assist in continuous improvement initiatives related to product quality and PDI process optimization.

Preferred candidate profile

• Diploma / B.Tech / B.E. in Electrical, Mechanical, or Automobile Engineering.
• 13 years of experience in a PDI, QA/QC, or service role, preferably in EV, automotive, or 2/3-wheeler manufacturing.
• Sound knowledge of electric vehicle components: battery systems, motor controllers, wiring, lighting, etc.
• Familiarity with diagnostic tools and EV testing equipment.
• Understanding of CMVR and AIS standards applicable to electric three-wheelers.
• Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment and meet dispatch schedules.
• Experience in E-Rickshaw, E-Scooter, or EV manufacturing setup.
• Exposure to lean manufacturing or Six Sigma practices is a plus.
