Patient Counsellor (Hospital)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Patient Counsellor for Ortho-One. The ideal candidate will coordinate patient admissions, counsel patients and their families, and ensure a smooth admission and surgical booking process while adhering to hospital policies and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Counsel patients and families regarding treatment plans, costs, rooms/beds, and hospital facilities.
• Assist with patient admissions in line with hospital policies and procedures.
• Coordinate surgery bookings and admission schedules with consultants and departments.
• Guide patients opting for cashless insurance to the Insurance Department for processing.
• Address patient queries and concerns politely and professionally.
• Communicate patient-related information to relevant departments in a timely manner.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
• Coordinate with billing, nursing, and housekeeping teams to ensure smooth admissions.
• Manage bed allocation in coordination with physicians to minimize admission conflicts.
• Ensure compliance with NABH, ISO, and other accreditation standards.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Qualification: B.Sc. (Psychology) or equivalent degree preferred, or any graduate with relevant hands-on experience may also be considered
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience as a Patient Counsellor.
• Skills:
• Must be fluent in English, Malayalam and Tamil.
• Strong patient counselling skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Ability to manage stressful situations in a fast-paced healthcare environment
• Good computer proficiency
